Postdoctoral Research Associate: The University of Georgia invites applications for the position of Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Department of Social Work-Dean’s Office. This research-focused role involves utilizing computational social science tools in social work and related fields. The successful candidate will engage in multidisciplinary research projects, receive mentoring, and have the option for a second year contingent on funding. Research themes include child safety, family wellbeing, health, behavioral health, social and economic policy development, and human trafficking.

Eligibility/Qualification:
- Ph.D. in social work, social science discipline, statistics, computer science, or a field closely related to artificial intelligence or computational social science techniques.
- Record of peer-reviewed publications.
- Demonstrated interest in data science, analytics, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and computational social science research.
- Capacity to manage research projects, including data collection, cleaning, and analysis.
Job Description:
- Collect, organize, and analyze project-relevant data.
- Design, manage, and organize individually directed research projects.
- Prepare, submit, and revise manuscripts, grant proposals, and conference abstracts/presentations.
- Engage in independent professional development activities.
- Mentor graduate students, interact with experts on data science, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and computational social science.
- Write papers and proposals, network at national/international meetings, explore career options, and search and apply for jobs.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in relevant field.
- Record of peer-reviewed publications.
- Demonstrated interest in computational social science research.
- Capacity to manage research projects, including data collection, cleaning, and analysis.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies:
- Design, conduct, and disseminate original research.
- Present research orally in research groups and formal venues.
- Write manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals, grant proposals, and conference abstracts/presentations.
- Willingness to learn and use high-performance computing, common data management software platforms (Linux, Python, R, SAS, etc.).
