Postdoctoral Research Associate: King’s College London is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Associate to join Dr. Gemma Modinos’ research team at the Department of Psychological Medicine. The position, funded by a National Institutes of Health R01 subaward, involves a 3-year commitment with the potential for an additional 2 years. The successful candidate will play a key role in investigating the relationships between schizotypy and brain functional/structural connectivity, utilizing a large-scale global ENIGMA consortium dataset.

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • PhD in neuroimaging, computer science, bioinformatics, medicine, neuroscience, psychology, or equivalent.
  • Experience in acquiring and analyzing brain MRI data (e.g., FreeSurfer, FSL, SPM).
  • Strong publication record in the relevant field.
  • Self-motivated, reliable, team player with a commitment to fostering a positive research culture.
  • Excellent time-management and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in written and spoken English.

Job Description:

  • Lead the synthesis and collation of a large dataset comprising behavioral and neuroimaging data.
  • Preprocess and analyze resting-state fMRI, DTI, and T1-weighted MRI data from individuals with varying degrees of self-reported schizotypy.
  • Organize and manage neuroimaging data, conduct statistical analyses, prepare scientific manuscripts, and disseminate results at scientific meetings.
  • Work independently with regular mentoring within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Collaborate with research teams within the IoPPN and the ENIGMA consortium.
  • Continually update knowledge and understanding of neuroimaging data analyses.
  • Develop own research interests.
  • Contribute to administrative duties as directed.

  • Proficient in English.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Proficiency in programming (MATLAB, Python, R, Unix/Linux shell).
  • International network engagement.
  • Supervisory experience.
