Eligibility/Qualification

  • PhD degree in cell biology, biochemistry, or a related discipline.
  • Background in DNA replication or repair, mitosis, or chromosome biology is preferred.
  • Significant expertise in at least one of the following: bioinformatics, proteomics, microscopy, biochemistry, structural biology, or CRISPR screening in mammalian cells.
  • At least one first-author primary paper or an eligible first-author manuscript (submitted as an appendix).
  • High degree of motivation, enthusiasm, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills in English.

Job Description

The successful candidate will choose between two projects:

  1. Investigating how cells recognize and repair DNA damage during mitosis.
  2. Utilizing CRISPR screening techniques to study how RecQ helicases maintain genome stability and mitigate risks of premature aging and cancer development.

The role includes access to advanced facilities for mass spectrometry, imaging, screening, and computational biology, along with collaborations for other techniques such as optical tweezers and cryo-electron microscopy.
