Eligibility/Qualification
- PhD in a relevant field (e.g., Molecular Biology, Genetics, Immunology)
- Strong bioinformatic expertise
- Experience working with CL3 pathogens, especially African trypanosomes
- Competence in genomic and transcriptomic analysis
- Ability to handle animal infections and conduct laboratory manipulations
Job Description
The successful candidate will:
- Study the transmission biology of African trypanosomes and their virulence.
- Investigate the molecular and genetic basis of virulence adaptation in competing parasite strains during co-infections.
- Utilize bioinformatics, genomics, and laboratory techniques for selected parasite lines.
This position is full-time (35 hours per week) for a fixed term of 40 months. Flexible working patterns, including part-time and hybrid arrangements, may be considered.
