This role focuses on cutting-edge research addressing vector-borne diseases through the application of advanced ‘-omics’ technologies, significantly contributing to malaria control efforts.

Location: Liverpool, United Kingdom (with international travel to Uganda and Kenya)
Eligibility/Qualification:
- PhD in Biology, Computer Science, Epidemiology, Bioinformatics, Ecology, or Genomics.
- Significant experience in molecular biology, next-generation sequencing technologies, or epidemiology/data management.
- Evidence of preparing publications for specialist/general science journals.
- Familiarity with research themes in the Vector Biology Department is desirable.
Job Description:
The successful candidate will work as part of an internationally renowned team, focusing on the following key responsibilities:
- Apply evolutionary genetic approaches to study disease vectors.
- Design and implement transcriptomic and genomic studies to explore fundamental evolutionary questions in Anopheles mosquitoes.
- Provide support and supervision to students and technical staff.
- Create training materials and deliver training on molecular and analytical techniques.
- Assist in the design and supervision of PhD projects.
- Generate ideas and contribute data for new project applications.
- Write research grants and contribute to peer-reviewed publications.
- Disseminate finding through publications and conferences.
