Eligibility/Qualification
Required:
- Ph.D. in biology, ecology, natural resources, environmental science, statistics, or a related field.
- Experience working with GIS and analyzing data in an R environment.
- Proficiency in quantitative data analysis and spatial models.
- Demonstrated success in publishing peer-reviewed articles in scientific journals.
- Excellent presentation and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Applicants must be eligible to begin employment in the United States by the start date.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel.
- Capability to conduct goshawk surveys under various field conditions.
Preferred:
- Experience with spatially explicit species models (e.g., species distribution models) and/or occupancy models.

Job Description
The Postdoctoral Research Associate will conduct both field-based and computer-based research, focusing on the spatial dynamics of the American Goshawk across its breeding range. Responsibilities include:
- Developing and integrating spatial models to analyze current and historical distribution patterns.
- Mentoring graduate students and coordinating communications within a large collaborative team.
- Publishing findings in peer-reviewed journals.
- Conducting field surveys and data collection in appropriate habitats.
The initial appointment is for two years, with the possibility of renewal contingent upon funding and performance, extending up to a maximum of five years. The position typically has a hiring salary of $60,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
