Job Description
About the Role
The successful candidate will work on an ERC Advanced project led by Craig MacLean, investigating the evolutionary biology of antibiotic resistance. Key responsibilities include:
- Manipulating the genomes of laboratory and clinical isolates of Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
- Uncovering mechanisms of adaptation to antibiotic treatment.
- Investigating genes involved in interactions between bacterial strains.
- Studying genes that drive responses to antibiotic treatment in simple and complex bacterial populations.
The Postdoctoral Research Associate will be part of a large, collaborative team comprising computational and experimental postdocs, PhD students, and a research assistant. The role offers access to cutting-edge experimental and computational facilities in the newly opened Life and Mind Building and opportunities for regular interaction with collaborating researchers in Oxford and across Europe. This is a full-time position, available immediately.
