- Proficiency in statistical software and handling large datasets.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to drive according to the University Fleet Safety Policy.
Job Description: The Postdoctoral Research Associate I will:
- Conduct and coordinate laboratory and field research activities.
- Organize and procure research-related information for efficient utilization.
- Develop and publish peer-reviewed research and extension manuscripts.
- Implement learning objectives, curriculum, and training materials related to biogeochemistry and soil health.
- Apply knowledge to solve environmental science problems for diverse stakeholders.
- Participate in grant writing to secure extramural funding.
Physical and Environmental Requirements:
- Ability to lift/move/transport up to 50lbs.
- Required to work outdoors for extended hours, especially during summer when temperature is above 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to develop and publish research reports and extension articles.
- Ability to drive vehicles to field research sites and work outside for extended hours.
- Motivation to work with agricultural stakeholders.
- Ability to learn new skills.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ph.D. upon hire.
- Experience with chemicals, mechanical and electronic instruments in field, greenhouse, or laboratory settings.
- Experience with statistical software and handling large datasets.
- Valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience with field and greenhouse experimentation.
- Experience with soil, gas, water, and plant sample processing and analyses.
- Experience in running lab instruments traditionally used in a soil analytical lab.
- Demonstrated experience with statistical analyses using software like R, SAS, JMP, Python, or similar.
- Experience in handling and organizing large, complex datasets.
- Demonstrated experience in publishing scholarly articles.
- Demonstrated experience in speaking at scientific conferences.
