Postdoctoral Research Associate in Biochemistry (Job Number: 23002204)

Durham University’s Department of Biosciences is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Associate in Biochemistry to join a dynamic team led by Prof Tim Blower. The role, funded by a BBSRC grant, focuses on investigating the biochemistry of Bacteriophage Exclusion (BREX) phage defense. The project involves employing a range of interdisciplinary techniques, including microbiology, molecular biology, protein biochemistry, and structural biology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct specialized and highly technical research in phage defense, emphasizing the BREX mechanism.
  • Collaborate on interdisciplinary projects, contributing to the advancement of research objectives.
  • Publish high-quality research outputs in peer-reviewed journals and present findings at conferences.
  • Assist in the development of research proposals and objectives.
