Summary:

The University of Oxford is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate to work on a 5-year European Research Council (ERC) Advanced Grant project. This multidisciplinary project focuses on developing a new generation of hybrid nanoparticulate systems with controlled molecular water interactions. You will be responsible for the design and synthesis of ionophores and the generation and characterisation of responsive polymer assemblies.

Research Area: Functional polymer and synthetic host-guest chemistry

Location: Physical and Theoretical Chemistry, South Parks Road, Oxford, OX1 3QZ

Eligibility/Qualification:

Applicants must hold a PhD in Chemistry (or be close to completion) before taking up the appointment. Experience in molecular synthesis, functional polymer synthesis, and characterisation is required.

Job Description:

Working as part of a multidisciplinary research team, you will design and synthesize ionophores and generate and characterise responsive polymer assemblies. You will be expected to manage your own academic research and administrative activities, including small-scale project management and coordinating multiple aspects of work to meet deadlines.
