Postdoctoral Research Associate in Mineralogy: The University of Münster (WWU) is a leading institution with 45,000 students and 8,000 employees in teaching, research, and administration. We are currently seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate for the Institute of Mineralogy in the Faculty of Geosciences. The successful candidate will join the externally funded project SA 2585/4-2 and contribute to investigating deep volatiles cycles and geodynamic processes in planetary interiors. This is a full-time position for 2.5 years.

Job Description:

  • Investigate deep volatiles cycles and related geodynamic processes in planetary interiors.
  • Perform density measurements on volatile-bearing melts and conduct thermodynamic modeling to understand the mobility of deep mantle melts.
  • Participate in laboratory tasks and provide supervision and mentoring to Master’s and PhD students in the group.
  • Collaborate in the acquisition of third-party funding.

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in high-pressure/high-temperature experiments using large volume presses (Paris-Edinburgh and multi-anvil) and/or synchrotron techniques.
  • Availability for travel.
  • Doctoral degree in Geosciences, Physics, Chemistry, or a related field at the time of appointment.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • German language skills are desirable but not mandatory.
