Eligibility/Qualification
- A PhD in Biomedical Sciences, Neuroscience, Physiology, or a related field, or nearing completion.
- Proven experience in stereotaxic surgery, metabolic phenotyping, and neuroscience laboratory techniques including:
- Immunohistochemistry
- RNAscope
- Fluorescence microscopy
- Molecular biology methods (ELISA, RT-PCR)
Job Description
The role consists of:
- Conducting research on the area postrema’s role in the body-brain axis and energy homeostasis.
- Performing stereotaxic surgery and venous cannulation, alongside intracardiac perfusion.
- Analyzing metabolic cage data and conducting glucose tolerance testing.
- Administering drugs through various routes.
- Processing brain tissue, cryostat sectioning, and conducting immunohistochemistry.
- Utilizing fluorescence microscopy and image analysis for research purposes.
