Eligibility/Qualification

  • A PhD in Biomedical Sciences, Neuroscience, Physiology, or a related field, or nearing completion.
  • Proven experience in stereotaxic surgery, metabolic phenotyping, and neuroscience laboratory techniques including:
  • Immunohistochemistry
  • RNAscope
  • Fluorescence microscopy
  • Molecular biology methods (ELISA, RT-PCR)

Job Description

The role consists of:

  • Conducting research on the area postrema’s role in the body-brain axis and energy homeostasis.
  • Performing stereotaxic surgery and venous cannulation, alongside intracardiac perfusion.
  • Analyzing metabolic cage data and conducting glucose tolerance testing.
  • Administering drugs through various routes.
  • Processing brain tissue, cryostat sectioning, and conducting immunohistochemistry.
  • Utilizing fluorescence microscopy and image analysis for research purposes.
