Research Area:
The contract focuses on AI architectures that overcome current hardware limitations in modern AI workloads. Main research subareas include:

  • AI accelerators (hardware for AI processing)
  • Computer system architectures (network-on-chip, task placement, communication algorithms)
  • Parallel programming models (processing-in-memory, SRAM-centric architectures, GPU programming)
  • Performance modelling and optimization of machine learning algorithms

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Academic Degree: PhD in Computer Science, Information Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent foreign qualification). Final-year PhD students may apply if the degree will be completed within six months after the call is published.
  • Language Proficiency: Excellent English.
  • Research Proposal: Must address approved ARCHYTAS research topics (detailed in the document) and be written in English (max 6 pages).
  • Technical Skills/Expertise:
    • Advanced knowledge of computer architecture, AI accelerators, computing systems programming, parallel programming, and programming AI accelerators.
    • Publication record in top-rated venues in Computer Systems, Parallel Computing, HPC, and Systems for Machine Learning.

Job Description:
The postdoc will actively lead and contribute to cutting-edge EU-funded research on AI acceleration and novel system architectures. Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting research on new parallel programming models and runtime optimizations for unconventional hardware
  • Designing, modeling, and optimizing AI/ML algorithms on emerging accelerator platforms
  • Teaching and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students
  • Collaborating with industry, research centers, and academic partners
  • Publishing research outcomes in high-level forums
