Postdoctoral Research Fellow: University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus is seeking a highly qualified and motivated Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join the Keestra-Gounder Lab within the Department of Immunology and Microbiology. The successful candidate will contribute to a project focusing on microbiota-activated NOD2 and MDA5-mediated innate immune responses in the intestinal tract during Coxsackievirus B3 infection.

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • PhD degree in immunology, virology, and/or bacteriology, or a related field prior to starting this position. Candidates in the final stages of completing their doctoral level degree are eligible to apply.
  • Published work in a peer-reviewed journal.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team.
  • Experience in mouse models of infection and processing mouse and/or human cells and tissues.
  • Experience with flow cytometry and analysis of flow cytometry data.

Job Description:
The Postdoctoral Research Fellow will work on a 2-year project with the possibility of extension, focusing on the investigation of microbiota-activated NOD2 and MDA5-mediated innate immune responses during Coxsackievirus B3 infection. The role entails utilizing genetic, molecular, cellular, biochemical, immunological, and in vivo approaches, as well as initiating new scientific directions at the interface of virology and immunology. Key responsibilities include pursuing research goals, collaborating with other researchers, training and supervising laboratory personnel, accurately collecting and recording experimental data, and preparing research data for presentations and publications. The role is based onsite in Aurora, Colorado.
