Eligibility/Qualification
- Applicable doctoral degree in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, or a related field.
- Understanding of statistics, genetics, immunology, and cancer development, particularly transcriptomics.
- Experience working with high-throughput sequencing data and integrating multi-omics data.
- Strong knowledge of gene transcription regulation and cis-regulatory elements in cancer settings.
- Proven ability to develop reproducible computational pipelines, preferably using Snakemake.
- Proficiency in containerization (Docker, Singularity, Apptainer) for software management.
- Familiarity with deep-learning methods.
- At least one first-author manuscript related to omics data analysis in a peer-reviewed journal.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
- Teaching experience in bioinformatics at the university level is an advantage.
Job Description
The successful candidate will contribute to two projects:
- Investigating genetic predisposition to medication-induced side effects: Familiarity with large-scale genomics, like the FinnGen study, is an advantage.
- Understanding metastatic potential and tumor immunobiology: This project utilizes all-things-omics, focusing on short and long-read sequencing, TCRs/BCRs profiling, and predictive patient stratification models.
