The Chair of Complex Soft Matter at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) is seeking to appoint a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to contribute to the establishment of next-generation automated research infrastructure and methodologies for closed-loop, data-driven experimentation in colloid science.

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • PhD in chemistry, materials science, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering or a related discipline.
  • Strong background in laboratory automation, robotics, and autonomous experimentation.
  • Experience with scientific programming and data analysis, ideally using Python-based tools.
  • Experience with rapid prototyping, CAD design, electronics integration, or open-source hardware development is beneficial.

ResponsibilitiesDetails
Develop Automated WorkflowsImplement automated experimental workflows for soft matter and colloidal systems.
Self-Driving LaboratoryContribute to the establishment of self-driving laboratory infrastructure for closed-loop experimentation.
Hardware and Software PrototypingPrototype, integrate, and optimize suitable open-source hardware and software solutions.
Methodologies DevelopmentDevelop robust methodologies for automated synthesis and characterization workflows.
Data-Driven ApproachesContribute to data-driven approaches for predictive colloid science.
Interdisciplinary CollaborationWork closely with researchers across materials science, chemistry, life sciences, and data science.
Publications and PresentationsContribute to scientific publications, conference presentations, and grant development.
MentorshipSupport and mentor doctoral, masterโ€™s, and undergraduate researchers.
