Job Description

As a Postdoctoral Researcher, you will advance the field of artificial intelligence applied to regulatory genomics as part of the GRASP project, funded by the Independent Research Fund Denmark. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leveraging new training datasets.
  • Building novel deep learning architectures.
  • Defining dedicated learning objectives to understand the effects of genetic variants on gene expression.
  • Focusing on data science and genomics in the model plant species, Brachypodium distachyon.
  • Proposing new solutions to predict the effects of regulatory variants in plant genomes.
  • Collaborating closely with the Koo lab at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory (CSHL), USA, including a mandatory 6- to 12-month research stay.

The position offers access to computational resources, including the GenomeDK high-performance computing cluster with high-memory nodes and state-of-the-art GPUs. You will work in an interdisciplinary environment, exchanging knowledge across machine learning, bioinformatics, biology, and quantitative genetics, with applications in plant biology, agriculture, and biomedicine.
