Scholarship Description: The ATLAS group at the LPNHE in Paris invites applications for a postdoctoral research position in experimental high energy physics to be associated with the ATLAS Experiment at the Large Hadron Collider. The successful candidate is expected to take a leading role in physics analyses using data from the ATLAS experiment with a focus on di-Higgs production modes and jet substructure and tagging. The candidate will work on the DIVE project, which targets the study of VBF diHiggs in the bbbb channel. The development of dedicated methods to identify decays of highly boosted Higgs boson to bb and its validation and calibration with ATLAS data will be investigated to maximize the sensitivity of the physics analyses. This position includes supervision of PhD and Master students, as well as opportunities for outreach work.
Eligibility: Interested candidates should have a PhD or equivalent in particle physics when starting the position. They should have a good understanding of standard concepts in particle physics and experience in using methods of data analysis in high energy physics. They should also have proficiency in C++ and Python programming languages, excellent organizational and teamwork skills, and exceptional communication skills in written documents and talks.
Required Documents: Interested candidates should provide their contact information, the coordinates of 2-3 referees for their work, a CV including diplomas, work experience, spoken languages, and a publication list, a motivation letter, a copy of their PhD diploma or equivalent, and a list of publications (3 maximum) to which they contributed significantly, showing the relevance of their profile for this project.
How to Apply: Interested candidates should apply at https://emploi.cnrs.fr/Offres/CDD/UMR7585-YOLBON-001/Default.aspx?lang=EN. The candidates are responsible for ensuring that the required documents are provided before the end of the validity of this call. Referees should send their recommendation letters before March 6th, 2023, by email to camacho@lpnhe.in2p3.fr with the title “ANR DIVE Post-doc position at LPNHE – name of the candidate.” Informal inquiries can be sent to camacho@lpnhe.in2p3.fr.
