Postdoctoral Research Position in Proteomics: The Research Unit 5762, coordinated by Prof. David Vilchez and Prof. Thorsten Hoppe, is inviting applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher in the area of quantitative proteomics and data integration. The successful candidate will join Central Project Z1 within a prestigious multi-institutional consortium exploring the cell non-autonomous regulation of organismal proteostasis. This is a fully funded, full-time position based at the University Hospital Cologne, with collaboration across several leading German research institutions.

Eligibility / Qualification

  • PhD or equivalent degree in the natural sciences
  • Proven expertise in proteomics is essential
  • Bioinformatics experience is an advantage

  • Highly collaborative and team-oriented personality

Job Description

The successful candidate will:

  • Design and conduct quantitative proteomics experiments
  • Collaborate with Project Leaders and CECAD Proteomics Facility
  • Lead an independent project on data integration to identify cell non-autonomous regulatory mechanisms
  • Organize training programs in proteomics for the Research Unit
  • Participate in seminars, workshops, and scientific events
  • Contribute to publications, both as first and co-author
