Postdoctoral Research Scholar: The Department of Physics at North Carolina State University is inviting applications for postdoctoral research associate positions starting in Spring 2024. The candidate will focus on developing and running quantum algorithms for solving problems in condensed matter physics and will collaborate with and mentor graduate students. The research will intersect quantum computing and condensed matter physics within the Kemper research group.

Essential Job Duties:
- Develop and run quantum algorithms for solving condensed matter physics problems.

Requirements and Preferences:

| Preferred Experience | Quantum algorithm development, modeling open quantum systems, Lie algebras, condensed matter field theory, running quantum circuits on noisy simulators and hardware. |
| Other Preferences | Ability to conduct interdisciplinary research, learn new tools independently, work on multiple projects simultaneously, and diverse backgrounds are welcome. |
Recruitment Details:
- Anticipated Hiring Range: $60,000-$70,000
