Eligibility/Qualification:
- Minimum Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in a quantitative field (Computer Science, Applied Math, Physics, Statistics, Epidemiology, Data Science)
- Strong programming skills (Python or R)
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Previous experience with AI methods
- Experience working with real-world data
- Ability to complete all training and certification in compliance with Columbia University policies and federal/state regulations
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong publication record
- Ability to perform research independently
- Experience applying AI methods in infectious disease research
Job Description:
The Postdoctoral Research Scientist will work on projects focused on early detection and inference for emerging infectious agents and apply AI/ML methods in human health research. Responsibilities include:
- Design, implement, and validate computational models for early detection and inference of infectious diseases (60%)
- Apply AI/ML methods to analyze human health data collected from experiments (25%)
- Prepare, submit, and revise manuscripts and research reports (10%)
- Perform related duties & responsibilities as assigned/requested (5%)
