Postdoctoral Research Scientist : The Computational Biomarker Imaging Group (CBIG) is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Scientist to join their team. CBIG’s mission is to bridge the gap between computational science and cancer imaging research, focusing on developing innovative methodologies in image analysis, machine learning, AI, and data science for multimodality imaging. The successful candidate will contribute to projects aimed at integrating imaging with genomic biomarkers for precision diagnostics and therapy in cancer, with a priority on radiomics and deep learning applications.

Postdoctoral Research Scientist on Machine Learning

Designation: Postdoctoral Research Scientist

Research Area: Machine Learning in Biomedical Imaging

Location: Columbia University, New York, USA

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • MD, PhD, DSc, or equivalent training and experience, plus two (2) years of related experience, or previous clinical research experience
  • Strong academic track record with first-author publications in peer-reviewed journals
  • PhD (or equivalent) in Biomedical, Electrical or Computer Engineering, Computer and Information Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics/Biostatistics, Bioinformatics, or related field
  • Background in biomedical image analysis, computer vision, pattern recognition, and/or machine learning
  • Proficiency in quantitative analytical methods and computer programming (e.g., Python, C/C++)
  • Experience with medical image analysis (e.g., MRI, CT, X-ray, Ultrasound) and related statistical methods and software packages (e.g., ITK C/C libraries, R/SPSS) is desired
  • Experience with Deep Learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch is ideal
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary research team

Job Description:

  • Develop innovative methodologies in image analysis, machine learning, AI, and data science for multimodality cancer imaging
  • Integrate imaging with genomic biomarkers for precision diagnostics and therapy in cancer
  • Contribute to projects focusing on radiomics and deep learning applications
