Postdoctoral Research Scientist (Signalling): The Babraham Institute is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Postdoctoral Research Scientist to join the David group. The successful candidate will focus on studying the role of extracellular proteostasis in healthy ageing and host defense against pathogens. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the understanding of mechanisms promoting healthy ageing and addressing age-related diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease.

Eligibility/Qualification:
- PhD in cell or molecular biology, genetics, or related field
- Demonstrable track record in academic research
- Prior research experience with C. elegans
- Experience in microscopy, molecular cloning, proteomics, and generating transgenic C. elegans is desirable
Job Description:
The post-holder will be involved in using reverse genetics, proteomics, and functional assays in C. elegans to dissect the impact of extracellular proteostasis on health at the tissue and whole organism levels. The position offers access to excellent career development courses at the Postdoc Academy (University of Cambridge) and high-quality scientific training through the Babraham Institute’s core facilities.

Please note that funding for this position is initially available for three years. The starting salary is £34,500 per annum for candidates who have not yet been awarded their PhD. Newly appointed postdocs will commence at a salary/scale point reflecting their years of post-PhD experience.
