Eligibility/Qualification:
- PhD in Atmospheric Sciences, Physics, Remote Sensing, or a related field.
- Work experience with atmospheric satellite data (NO₂, HCHO, aerosols, ozone) and/or chemistry transport models.
- Strong programming skills (e.g., Python, Fortran).
- A track record of publications in peer-reviewed journals.
- Excellent communication skills in English (C1 level) for collaboration in international projects.
Job Description:
- Improve, harmonize, and tailor satellite (TROPOMI, OMI) NO₂ and HCHO products for integration into atmospheric models.
- Evaluate and compare emission inventories and atmospheric models (TM5-MP, MAGRITTE, LOTOS-EUROS, CAMS).
- Integrate GEO (GEMS) and LEO satellite products, including diurnal cycle analysis of NOx emissions.
- Deliver results on time within ESA project frameworks, including preparing reports and written deliverables for international partners.
- Publish findings in peer-reviewed journals and contribute to ESA’s international collaboration framework.
