Eligibility/Qualification:
For Postdoctoral Researcher:
- PhD (or equivalent) in molecular biology, biochemistry, or related field.
- Proven experimental experience in RNA biology and molecular biology, demonstrated by a publication record.
- Excellent communication skills.
For Ph.D. Student:
- Meet the minimum requirements of either the Plant Molecular Biology Program or the Department of Plant Pathology at the University of Florida.
- Strong foundation in molecular genetics, biochemistry, and cell biology.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Proficiency in wet bench research.
Job Description:
Postdoctoral Researcher and Ph.D. Student Positions in Molecular Genetics of RNA Structures
For Postdoctoral Researcher:
- Analyze in vivo RNA structures with functional relevance to viroid replication and trafficking.
- Lead experimental design, data collection and analysis, and manuscript/proposal preparation.
- Contribute to the training of graduate and undergraduate students in the lab.
- Make significant research progress, as evidenced by publications and preliminary data for grant applications.
- Receive training in effective communication (writing and oral presentations) and attend national/international meetings.
For Ph.D. Student:
- Conduct research in the molecular genetics of RNA structures in plant-viroid interactions.
- Master knowledge in molecular genetics, biochemistry, and cell biology.
- Collaborate within a dynamic research community at the University of Florida.
