Eligibility/Qualification:
- PhD (or expected completion by the start date) in natural sciences or MD in medical sciences.
- PhD defense date not earlier than 2022.
- At least one first-author publication by the start date.
- Motivated to pursue innovative biomedical research and advance their scientific career.
- International professional experience and potential to receive an ERC Starting Grant.
- Backgrounds in molecular biology, biomedical research, bioinformatics, biochemistry, bioengineering, etc.
- Demonstrated scientific quality, originality, and a collaborative, interdisciplinary mindset.
Job Description:
Selected candidates will join one of CeMM’s research groups for 3 to 6 years, focusing on medically relevant problems including disease mechanisms, modern therapeutics, and diagnostic strategies. Research projects include:
- Abdel Fattah Lab: Multiscale mechanobiology of tissue organization.
- Bock Lab: Bioinformatics & ML/AI, Genome engineering & single-cell biology.
- Kubicek Lab: Chromatin metabolism.
- Maier Lab: Dysregulation of systemic immunity in cancer.
- Rendeiro Lab: Tissue-specific aging using large-scale spatial omics datasets and deep learning.
- Seruggia Lab: Chromatin modifiers in haematopoiesis and leukaemia.
