Postdoctoral Researcher at Helmholtz-Zentrum Hereon: The Helmholtz-Zentrum Hereon is seeking a highly qualified Postdoctoral Researcher in the field of oceanography, mechatronics, electronics, or measurement technology. The position is part of an innovative platform for marine observation, sensor technology, and measurement data, in collaboration with industry and marine operators. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of a miniaturized autonomous measurement system for deployments on small vessels and autonomous floating platforms.

Eligibility/Qualification:
- PhD in Operational Oceanography, Mechatronics, Electronics, or a similar field
- Excellent programming skills, e.g., Python (cross-platform Linux/Windows), LabVIEW, Matlab, C++
- High degree of initiative and ability to work in a team
- Independence, flexibility, and creativity
- Willingness to participate in research at sea
Job Description: The postdoctoral researcher will be responsible for conceptualizing a miniaturized measurement system using existing ocean sensors, coordinating its development and implementation into existing platforms, and establishing standard operating procedures. Collaboration with external stakeholders, such as ocean industry partners, and close collaboration with project partners will be crucial. The researcher will help with sensor communication and data transfer workflows, manage research data, and attend external events on behalf of the center.
