Job Description:
The Linguistics and English Language Department in the School of Philosophy, Psychology, and Language Sciences at the University of Edinburgh is looking for a Postdoctoral Researcher to join their team. This is a full-time, fixed-term position for 32 months, commencing in March 2024. The researcher will contribute to the project “Language learning, communication and the emergence of phonotactic constraints,” funded by the Economic and Social Research Council.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct experimental studies in the field of language learning and communication.
- Collaborate with the project’s Principal Investigator, Prof. Mits Ota, and Co-Investigator, Prof. Kenny Smith.
- Collect and analyze data from human participants.
- Utilize programming skills to design experiments and present stimuli for online experiments.
- Apply statistical analysis to experimental data using R, Python, or equivalent programming languages.
