Eligibility / Qualification

  • Master’s degree and doctorate (PhD) in biochemistry, bioanalytics, biomedicine, chemical biology, or a related discipline.
  • Advantageous: experience with:
    • Solid-Phase Peptide Synthesis (SPPS)
    • UV/Vis spectroscopy
    • HPLC, LC-MS/MS
    • Enzymatic assays
    • Peptide/protein chemistry or heme biology
  • Strong practical experience in peptide analysis is desirable.

Job Description

  • Conduct solid-phase peptide synthesis (SPPS) and purify/analyze peptides and proteins.
  • Study peptide- and protein-heme/porphyrin interactions.
  • Develop and apply in vitro enzymatic assays.
  • Supervise bachelor’s and master’s students.
  • Present research findings at scientific conferences and in journals.
  • Contribute to the DFG project: “Characterisation of the molecular basis of labile heme as a prothrombotic modulator under hemolytic conditions.”
