Postdoctoral Researcher (Computational Physics): Tampere University is seeking a talented and motivated postdoctoral researcher to join the Many-Body Theory group for a project focusing on the computational study of quantum nuclear effects in solids. This position offers a unique environment for high-level fundamental research and a chance to contribute to the development of a novel branch of solid-state research.

Eligibility/Qualification:
- Must hold an internationally recognized PhD degree in physics, mathematics, or chemistry, ideally in computational condensed matter physics.
- If the PhD is not yet completed, it must be finalized during the recruitment period.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English is essential.
- Knowledge of the programming language Python is mandatory.
- Expertise in many-body quantum mechanics, many-body theory, program development, and experience with the Quantum ESPRESSO program package are advantageous.
- Ability to work collaboratively in an international research group and willingness to supervise students.
Job Description:
The successful candidate will focus on:
- Studying quantum nuclear effects on various properties of solids.
- Developing an in-house program package and conducting computations on realistic solids using supercomputing resources.
- Collaborating within a multidisciplinary research environment.
- Assisting in supervising Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD students, alongside participation in teaching tasks.
The position is well-funded, part of the Theory Program of the Helsinki Institute of Physics, and will be offered for 1-2 years with the possibility of extension.
