  • Ph.D. (or equivalent) in Physics, Mathematics, or Chemistry, preferably in Computational Condensed Matter Physics.
  • Strong proficiency in Python programming (mandatory).
  • Knowledge of many-body quantum mechanics and many-body theory is advantageous.
  • Experience with Quantum ESPRESSO or similar computational packages is a plus.
  • Excellent written and spoken English skills.
  • Willingness to work collaboratively in an international research environment.
  • Ability to supervise students and participate in teaching tasks.

๐Ÿงญ Job Description

The selected postdoctoral researcher will:

  • Conduct computational studies of quantum nuclear effects in solids using high-performance computing resources provided by CSC โ€“ IT Center for Science.
  • Contribute to the development of in-house program packages for computational modeling.
  • Work collaboratively within the Many-Body Theory Group under the Theory Program of the Helsinki Institute of Physics (HIP).
  • Participate in research supervision and teaching activities within the department.
  • Publish high-quality research and contribute to building a novel branch of solid-state research at Tampere University.
