Job Description: The postdoctoral researcher will join Tim Bean’s shellfish biology research group at the Roslin Institute. The position involves conducting research on various aspects of shellfish biology, including genetics, disease diagnostics, host-pathogen interactions, cell culture, and field studies of disease events. The successful applicant will possess excellent molecular biology skills, with additional experience in bioinformatics analysis and working with aquatic species in laboratory and field settings being desirable. The role requires a self-motivated and highly organized individual with strong communication skills. The post also involves supervising junior staff members and students and collaborating on multiple research projects. The core scientist will have the opportunity to develop independent projects and lines of research in collaboration with the Principal Investigator.
