Study Area

Scholarship Description

The Postdoctoral Researcher will work within an inclusive environment at the John Innes Centre (JIC), gaining new skills and training in applying AI approaches to well-curated datasets. The project is part of an international collaboration with Professor Hiroshi Kudoh from Kyoto University. The researcher will contribute to understanding how circadian rhythms adapt plants to their environments, impacting traits essential for agriculture.

Eligibility

  • PhD in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Biology, or a related discipline.
  • In-depth knowledge of computational analysis and management of biological data.
  • Ability to understand key features of biological problems amenable to computational approaches.
  • Demonstrable experience in scientific publications and working with large-scale real-world datasets.
  • Previous knowledge in statistics and experience with AI methods, techniques, tools, and application is highly desirable.
