Eligibility / Qualification:

Essential:

  • PhD (or equivalent doctoral degree) in Physics or a closely related discipline

Preferred:

  • Proven experience in detector development
  • Strong English communication skills
  • Willingness to travel for experimental work in Bonn
  • Demonstrated independence, teamwork, responsibility, and reliability

Job Description:

The successful candidate will join the INSIGHT experiment team to design, build, and integrate the pixel detector system. Key responsibilities include:

  • Development of the mechanical mounting structure and cooling concept for the pixel detector.
  • Optimization of detector design based on simulations of photoproduction processes.
  • Integration and commissioning of the detector at the experimental site in Bonn.
