- Solid-water interface investigation at the molecular level
- In-situ/operando atomic force microscopy
- Ultrafast spectroscopy
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
Job Description:
The postdoctoral researcher will focus on:
- Developing in-situ and operando characterization techniques for metal electrodes
- Investigating hydrogen-bond structures and molecular dynamics near electrode surfaces
- Utilizing advanced nonlinear optical femtosecond vibrational spectroscopy and scanning probe microscopy
- Studying the dynamic distribution of ions and reactants near electrode surfaces
- Gaining insights into the electrical double layer structure to optimize electrochemical reactions for energy conversion and storage
This position is a collaborative effort between the Ultrafast Spectroscopy and the 3D Photovoltaics groups at AMOLF, supervised by Prof. Bakker and Prof. Alarcon-Llado. The successful candidate will work closely with other PhD students, technicians, and post-docs within the Sustainable Materials theme and ChemSpec center of expertise at AMOLF.
Working Conditions:
- Full-time appointment (40 hours/week)
- Initial duration of 2 years with a possibility of extension by 1 year
- Salary starting at 4,065 Euros gross per month
