Postdoctoral Researcher – Electrochemical Synthesis: The Mustain Laboratory for Electrocatalysts and Fuels at the University of South Carolina is seeking a postdoctoral research associate for the Electrochemical Synthesis area. The focus of this position is the synthesis and testing of catalysts for CO reduction and electrochemical methane activation. The work is part of larger collaborative efforts funded by the U.S. Department of Energy and National Science Foundation. The successful applicant will collaborate with graduate students, present results to sponsors, participate in proposal writing, and attend meetings and conferences.

Eligibility/Qualification:
- PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or equivalent.
- PhD thesis focused on electrochemical CO2 reduction or electrochemical methane oxidation.
- Demonstrated previous experience in catalyst synthesis.
Job Description: The selected candidate will:
- Synthesize and test catalysts for CO reduction and electrochemical methane activation.
- Collaborate extensively with graduate students.
- Prepare reports and present results to sponsors.
- Participate in the writing of new proposals.
- Travel to meetings and conferences.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in the synthesis of single-atom catalysts.
- Training and operation of XRD, SEM, TEM, and XPS.
- Previous experience with preparing membrane electrode assemblies.
- Previous experience mentoring graduate or undergraduate students.
- Desire to participate in the writing of funding proposals.
