Postdoctoral Researcher – Environmental Politics: Dublin City University (DCU) is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to work on two externally funded research projects related to environmental politics. The successful candidate will split their time evenly between the Horizon Europe project RETOOL and the Climate + Biodiversity and Water Co-Centre. The projects aim to advance our understanding of democratic governance in the face of climate challenges and analyze policy frameworks for climate, biodiversity, and water quality.

Location: Dublin City University, Dublin, Ireland

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • PhD in environmental politics or a related discipline
  • Strong research profile in climate change, biodiversity, and/or water politics
  • Emerging track record of peer-reviewed academic publications
  • Excellent empirical research, analytical, and writing skills
  • Interdisciplinary collaboration experience
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of EU and Irish environmental policy landscapes

Job Duration: Fixed-Term Contract (up to 3 years)

Job Description: The successful candidate will work on both projects, contributing to literature reviews, primary data collection and analysis, project meetings, and outreach activities. Key responsibilities include presenting findings at conferences, engaging with stakeholders, and ensuring timely project deliverables. The researcher will contribute to the efficient management of both projects, undertaking relevant administrative tasks.
