Eligibility/Qualification

  • A PhD or DSc in plant science, molecular biology, cell biology, microbiology, biochemistry, biophysics, or a related field.
  • Excellent spoken and written English.
  • Significant experience in biological, biochemical, or biophysical research.
  • Strong academic writing skills.
  • Proficiency in experimental design, statistical analysis, and data visualization.

Preferred Skills (Advantageous)

  • Cyanobacterial or algal cell culturing
  • Molecular biology and gene editing skills (e.g., CRISPR)
  • Coding skills (e.g., R, Python, LabTalk)
  • Bioinformatics skills
  • Experience with photosynthesis measurement techniques (spectroscopy, gas exchange)
  • Experience with electrophysiological techniques (e.g., voltage clamp)
  • Strong publication record

  • Experience mentoring or supervising students

Job Description

The successful candidate will investigate the molecular mechanisms governing proton motive force (pmf) regulation in photosynthetic bacteria. This research aims to understand how cyanobacteria thrive in fluctuating environments and leverage discoveries to optimize solar-powered sustainable biotechnologies. The role entails working in a dynamic research environment, contributing to scientific excellence, and enhancing research collaborations globally.
