Postdoctoral Researcher – Gender: The Centre for Research in Economics and Statistics (CREST) invites applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher position to work on the European Research Council funded project WeEqualize. The project, led by Professor Léa Pessin, focuses on social inequalities in work-family strategies within and across 24 industrialized countries. Job Description: The Postdoctoral Researcher will work within the WeEqualize project, addressing the implications of the gender revolution on social inequalities in work-family strategies. Responsibilities include conducting independent research, presenting at international conferences, publishing articles in top peer-reviewed journals, and active participation in the academic life of the sociology group at CREST. The researcher will work with time-diary data, longitudinal surveys, and employ advanced statistical methods.
Profile & Skills:
- PhD in sociology, demography, or a relevant discipline.
- Strong quantitative research methods skills.
- Programming skills in either R or Stata.
- Experience with time-use data or large-scale survey data.
- Strong communication skills, both independently and in international teams.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
- Experience presenting at international conferences.
- Promise as a scholar in the field.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience harmonizing cross-national data.
- Familiarity with specific longitudinal data sets.
- Experience with cross-national surveys (ESS, GGP, ISSP).
- Experience with latent-class analysis and demographic microsimulations.
- Familiarity with work-family literature and the gender division of labor literature.
