Postdoctoral Researcher – High Contrast Imaging: The Department of Physics at the University of California, Santa Barbara, invites applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher position in the Millar-Blanchaer Research Group. The successful candidate will collaborate with Assistant Professor Maxwell Millar-Blanchaer on innovative research related to exoplanetary system imaging, specializing in polarimetric science and instrumentation.

Research Area: Exoplanetary system imaging, polarimetric science, and instrumentation.
Location: Santa Barbara, CA
Eligibility/Qualification:
- Ph.D. (or equivalent) in Physics, Astronomy, Engineering, Optical Science, or a closely related field at the time of application.
- 2-3 years of experience in astronomical observations, instrumentation, data analysis, high-contrast imaging, circumstellar disk science, and/or polarimetry (preferred).
- Basic qualifications required at the start of the appointment.
Job Description:
- Contribute to the planning and development of the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope Coronagraphic Instrument (50% of time).
- Support laboratory or observational research programs within the Millar-Blanchaer group (20-30% of time).
- Maintain an independent research program with the remaining time.
- Access to Keck Observatory telescopes, Lick Observatory, and Las Cumbres Observatory Global Telescope Network.
- Collaborate within a stimulating research environment and participate in astrophysics workshops.
