Eligibility/Qualification
- PhD in Microbiology and/or Nanotechnology
- Knowledge of spectroscopic techniques
- Hands-on experience with fluorescence microscopy
- Proven experience in photodynamic therapy assays
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to present research results in scientific journals and at international conferences, as well as to non-scientific audiences
- Proven excellent knowledge of English
- Motivated, open-minded, highly dynamic, and capable of working in a team
- Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and creative thinking skills
- Strong commitment to scientific research in a competitive environment
Job Description
- Design and characterize photoactive nanomotors
- Characterize the generation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) by photoluminescence and electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR)
- Evaluate the antimicrobial and antibiofilm activity of the nanomotors
- Screen the stability and (cyto-)toxicity of the nanomotors using MTT, Resazurin tests, and commercial colorimetric and luminescent kits
- Write reports and scientific articles
- Present research findings at internal meetings and conferences
- Provide guidance and support to students and team members
- Manage and monitor lab safety
