- Completion or near completion of a PhD in AI or NLP
- Strong international publication record
- Strong programming skills
- Experience with machine learning frameworks
Job Description:
The candidate will lead innovative research projects aimed at building safe AI that prioritizes human interests. The position focuses on developing models that remain continuously aligned throughout the entire training process. Responsibilities include:
- Combining synthetic data generation, mechanistic interpretability, LLM pre- and post-training, and model evaluation in novel ways.
- Contributing to the Swiss AI Initiative by incorporating research results into Apertus, an open, transparent multilingual language model.
- Engaging with a talented team of students and collaborators in a dynamic research environment.
- Project work with MS and PhD students is expected, and involvement in teaching is possible but not required.
