Postdoctoral Researcher in Antimicrobial Discovery: Umeå University is seeking a highly motivated and talented postdoctoral researcher to join the Department of Molecular Biology, focusing on the characterization of novel antichlamydial candidate antibiotics. This is a full-time temporary position for two years.

Eligibility/Qualification
- Completed doctoral degree in molecular biology, microbiology, pharmaceutical sciences, or a closely related field.
- Preference for candidates who completed their doctoral degree within the last three years, though those with special circumstances may also be considered.
- Required skills and experience:
- Work with human cell cultures and intracellular bacterial pathogens
- Proficient in molecular genetic techniques
- Experience in fluorescence microscopy
- Ability to generate antimicrobial formulations
- Experience in in vivo testing in mouse models
- Fluency in spoken and written English.
Job Description
The successful candidate will participate in a comprehensive antimicrobial discovery campaign aimed at combating antimicrobial resistance. Responsibilities include:
- Designing and conducting experiments to identify molecular targets and modes of action of selected compounds.
- Presenting research results at conferences and publishing findings.
- Assisting in the supervision of student projects and potentially engaging in teaching responsibilities (up to 20%).
