Eligibility/Qualification

  • PhD in Chemical Engineering and Chemical Engineering Technology or a related field (obtained within the last 6 years).
  • Expertise in liquid-phase fixed-bed adsorption experimentation.
  • Familiarity with phase equilibria of complex mixtures, both experimentally and theoretically.
  • Strong background in process design, simulation tools (e.g., Aspen Plus), process optimization, and TEA.
  • Ability to work independently and possess coaching and leadership skills.
  • High responsibility for project outcomes and laboratory safety.
  • Excellent proficiency in English (written and spoken).

Job Description

  • Spend at least 70% of your assignment on academic research.
  • Develop hydroxycinnamic acids and high-value bio-aromatics separation and recovery processes from rapeseed meal biorefinery streams.
  • Focus areas include:
  1. Hydroxycinnamic acid recovery from protein extract and (depolymerized) lignin stream.
  2. Identification of key bio-aromatic components for separation.
  3. Elucidation of thermodynamic behavior through simulations and experimental validation.
  4. Design of recovery processes for key bio-aromatics.
