Eligibility / Qualification
Mandatory Requirements
- PhD in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related neurotechnology-relevant field
- Doctoral degree awarded no more than three years before the application deadline*
- Hands-on experience in cleanroom microfabrication / micro-manufacturing
- Strong written and spoken English communication skills
- Demonstrated potential in research and teaching

Job Description
The postdoctoral researcher will be part of the EU-funded BioFINE project, focusing on the development of intra-neural implants capable of reading and writing nerve signals for advanced prosthetic control and artificial sensation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and optimizing nano- and microfabrication processes for implantable bioelectronic systems
- Working with e-beam lithography and flexible polymer substrates (e.g., polyimide)
- Integrating materials solutions to enhance biocompatibility, stability, and functionality
- Collaborating with international partners in Germany, Spain, and Italy, and national partners in Sweden
- Expanding developed methods toward applications beyond bionic limbs
- Supervising Master’s and/or PhD students to a certain extent
- Contributing to undergraduate and/or Master’s level teaching
