Eligibility/Qualification

  • PhD in computer science, physics, mathematics, or a related field.
  • Experience with the analysis of single-cell and/or spatial omics data.
  • Proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Python, Julia, or R.
  • Excellent analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Very good command of the English language.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience analyzing large-scale datasets (e.g., INNODIA data warehouse) and/or multi-omics data.
  • Background in computational, statistical, or machine learning methods.
  • Good practices in software development and strong communication skills.
  • Experience in supervising students is an advantage.

Job Description

As a Postdoctoral Researcher, you will:

  • Develop, test, and apply integrated approaches for analyzing single-cell and spatial omics data across various modalities.
  • Analyze Type 1 Diabetes data from mouse models and patient samples.
  • Inform the experimental design for spatial transcriptomic measurements.
  • Disseminate your findings through manuscripts and presentations at international meetings.
  • Collaborate closely with clinical and biological researchers, as well as core facilities (Single Cell Core, LISCO).
  • Support PhD thesis projects and engage in interdisciplinary projects within KU Leuven Diabetes Lab.
