Postdoctoral Researcher in Modeling and Simulation of Biomedical Problems
Designation:
Postdoctoral Researcher (Full-time, 40 hours per week)
Research Area:
Modeling and simulation of biomedical problems, including the development of computational models and software for medical applications such as cardiovascular systems and tumor growth, uncertainty quantification, and inverse problems in parameter identification.
Location:
RICAM, Austrian Academy of Sciences, Linz, Austria
Eligibility/Qualification:
- A Doctorate in Applied Mathematics, Biomedical Engineering, or a closely related field
- Strong background in finite element simulation
- Proficiency in C++ and Python programming
- Fluency in English
- Experience with interdisciplinary research and high-performance computing (HPC) is desirable
Job Description:
- Develop computational models and software for biomedical applications such as direct simulations of cardiovascular systems and brain tumor growth
- Apply uncertainty quantification methods and solve inverse problems related to model parameter identification for personalized medical modeling
- Maintain and develop simulation codes within the research group
- Collaborate with hospitals in Austria and Spain, leveraging interdisciplinary expertise
