Postdoctoral Researcher in Biophysics, UT Southwestern Medical Center, USA

Postdoctoral Position in USA

Postdoctoral Researcher in Biophysics: A postdoctoral training position at the interface of Biophysics and Developmental Biology is available in the laboratory of Dr. Konstantin Doubrovinski at UT Southwestern Medical Center, in collaboration with Dr. Weria Pezeshkian at the University of Copenhagen. This research aims to map material properties of cellular structures in developing embryos, contributing valuable insights into tissue dynamics in early animal development.

Designation:
Postdoctoral Researcher

Research Area:
Biophysics, Developmental Biology, Computational Physics

Location:
UT Southwestern Medical Center, Dallas, TX, USA, in collaboration with the University of Copenhagen, Denmark.

Eligibility/Qualification:
Candidates must hold a Ph.D. degree in a relevant field. Experience in computational physics is essential, with a background in biophysics or developmental biology considered an asset.

Job Description:
The successful candidate will work on developing models to understand the mechanical response and deformation of embryonic tissue when subjected to external mechanical manipulations. The research is focused on exploring the dynamics of tissue shape changes during early fruit fly embryo development. This position combines theoretical and experimental expertise from both the Pezeshkian lab (fluid membrane dynamics simulation) and Doubrovinski lab (mechanical response measurement tools). The project aims to establish a comprehensive mechanical model of tissue dynamics that underpin embryonic development.

How to Apply:
Interested candidates should submit their CV, a statement of research interests, and contact information for three references via email to Dr. Konstantin Doubrovinski at Konstantin.Doubrovinski@utsouthwestern.edu.

For more information, please visit Dr. Doubrovinski’s lab website: https://doubrovinskilab.com/. Further details about the postdoctoral program and its benefits can be found at UT Southwestern Postdocs.

Last Date for Apply:
Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled. Early applications are encouraged.
