Postdoctoral Researcher in Cancer Stem Cells: The Institute for Advanced Chemistry of Catalonia (IQAC-CSIC), located in Barcelona, Spain, is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to join the ERC-funded project SeleCStem. This interdisciplinary project focuses on developing innovative drug systems targeting cancer stem cells by leveraging chemistry and biology.

Eligibility/Qualification:
- PhD in Chemistry, Pharmacy, or a related field.
- Strong background in synthetic chemistry.
- Additional competencies such as experience in biological assays, cell culture, or docking are a plus.
- High proficiency in written and oral English.
- Desirable skills include project leadership, independence, student supervision, critical thinking, organization, and teamwork.
Job Description:
The successful candidate will contribute significantly to the SeleCStem project, which aims to design highly selective drugs targeting cancer stem cells. Key responsibilities include:
- Designing molecules using computational approaches.
- Synthesizing and characterizing the designed molecules.
- Evaluating photochemical properties and biological activity in assays.
- Studying the impact of these molecules on cancer cell lines.
This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a multidisciplinary team and develop expertise in computational modeling, organic synthesis, enzyme assays, and cell culture. Additional opportunities include supervising students, aiding grant preparation, and leading independent projects.
Working Conditions:
