Eligibility / Qualification

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Ph.D. degree in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a closely related field.
  • Strong research track record with scientific publications.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.

Preferred Skills and Experience

Experience in one or more of the following techniques is advantageous:

  • Cell culture techniques
  • Gene silencing (RNAi)
  • Protein analysis (immunoblotting)
  • RNA analysis (RT-qPCR)
  • CRISPR-based gene editing
  • Confocal microscopy and colocalization analysis
  • Mass spectrometry and omics data analysis
  • Cell migration/motility assays
  • Molecular cloning

Preferred Research Background

Candidates with experience in the following research topics will be given priority:

Job Description

The selected candidate will join the Cell Biology of Nutrient Sensing research group and contribute to studies exploring the molecular regulation of cell growth, metabolism, and protein secretion.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Investigating molecular mechanisms controlling cell growth and nutrient sensing.
  • Studying cellular responses to nutrient starvation and stress.
  • Exploring the role of organelles in metabolism and signaling pathways.
  • Examining how secreted proteins influence cellular physiology and communication.
  • Applying advanced research techniques including functional genomics, proteomics, metabolomics, gene-editing, and high-resolution microscopy.
  • Contributing to collaborative research projects and publishing scientific findings.

Employment Benefits

  • Salary: €3,598 – €5,669 per month (depending on experience).
  • Contract: 2 years initially, with possible extension after performance evaluation.
  • Working Hours: 36 hours per week.
  • Additional Benefits:
    • 8% holiday allowance
    • 8.3% year-end bonus
